  • Happy Birthday, Holley!

30 years ago today, I gave birth to a precious little baby girl. We named her Holley Lynn, after my high school best friend. She was a great baby (once she got over the colic), a sweet little girl, a typical teenager (including a sort of goth period) and is now a thoughtful and caring young woman.

I could not have asked for a better child. Thank you, God, for giving me the pleasure of raising her and for not letting me completely screw her up before you took over!

Enjoy some photos from her life!

  • I was a little scared when I heard your voicemail!  You definitely found some bad pics, but it’s okay.  :)   Thank you for all the super-sweet birthday blessings!!

  • ok the baby picture on the quilt is cracking me up- and you look super hot with your black hair too!!!! Seriously! She is the best!

  • My favorite is the one where Holley is looking around the tree. But they are all beautiful.  And who is that pretty gal looking over Holley’s and Granny’s shoulders?

  • I totally concur with your descriptions. And I, too, am thankful that the good Lord saw fit to keep us pointed in the generally right direction with Holley, even though He was not a very big part of our lives then. Most of all, I am thankful that He chose to lead Holley independently of us, and that certainly played a part in my own eventual embracing of Him. Oh…and I will be forever thankful for the privelege of having Holley in my life!

Never got in trouble (of any consequence, anyway)….never got too rebellious……never smoked…..always took the high road…..boy, was I lucky!

But I refuse to accept that my little girl is 30.
