The best Mother’s Day gift
My daughter, my only child, came home for a visit this weekend. She just got in last night and she’s still sleeping now, so we haven’t had a lot of time together just yet. But simply having her here is so wonderful. It doesn’t matter if we don’t get to do much more than talk and go to Church together, it will be a great visit.
I think that the most precious Mother’s Day gift of all is the love of our children. I’m not talking about the love they feel just because they are related. It’s the love you really feel from them when they talk to you and the way they look at you. It’s the willingness to spend time with you when they really don’t have to. And being excited about it. And it’s knowing that they really like you as a person.
I feel so lucky to have such a great daughter. Having been one myself, and knowing that my relationship with my mother wasn’t the best in the world makes my relationship with Holley even more precious.
God had truly blessed me.
