  • I really like hurricanes. The wind, the sideways rain, the total energy in the air. It’s just the coolest thing in the world.

Granted Panama City is in sort of a protected area somehow….we don’t seem to get direct hits very often. Almost always they hit to the east or west of us. And the area where I live in the city isn’t prone to flooding, either. Last year a tornado came within 1/2 mile of us, so that was a little scary….or would have been if I’d been awake when it happened.

Alberto is just the beginning of another long year of storms, so they say. I have relatives in Ft. Pierce, Palm Bay and Ft. Lauderdale and I think it’s safe to say none of them like these storms at all. They all had a lot of damage from them last year, so we need to keep them in our prayers this year.

But for me, bring ‘em on! I’m ready! And hopefully this won’t be the year that we get a direct hit and I have to eat my words! : )

  • You’re making me jealous!!  If there’s one thing I miss about living in PC (other than you being there, of course!) it’s the hurricanes.  Last year, I actually considered driving down just to be there when one hit nearby!  So I guess I’m not all weird..  or else we both are, and it’s genetic.

  • It’s better than being terrified every time the wind blows, so if that’s weird, it’s just the way it has to be!
